"It's like that." Mo Shaohan looked at Gu Jiaobei with a knowing smile, as if he had always accepted this reality.
Gu Jiaobei didn’t ask more. They sat in silence for some time before Mo Shaohan suddenly stopped smiling and looked serious. He softly asked: "Jiaobei, what are you planning about Zeng girl?"
"What can I plan with her?" Gu Jiaobei turned his head and said calmly, his tone unchanged. "I'm already married to Su Lan."
Mo Shaohan raised an eyebrow at him, smiling gently as he patted Gu Jiaobei's shoulder twice before hooking his neck: "Stop pretending. Yesterday, you kept drinking after I mentioned Qin Zeng because you knew it would make your stomach hurt but still drank like crazy. You can't lie to me."
Gu Jiaobei looked at him and smiled, shaking his head: "You're overthinking this. I was just consoling you since I felt bad about seeing Shaohuan slapped by Jiaoxi."
"Bluffing, keep it up." Mo Shaohan raised an eyebrow at Gu Jiaobei, looking indignant.
Jiaoxi and Jiaobei were always close; if he seriously considered marrying her sister, Pei Feng would definitely become his brother-in-law!
"I'll leave!" Mo Shaohan, feeling wronged, waved goodbye to Gu Jiaobei and walked away.
"Yeah, I think I need more time to observe Pei Feng. He seems better." Gu Jiaobei said to the retreating back of Mo Shaohan, causing him to glare and mutter something before entering an elevator.
Su Lan watched their exchange with a smile on her face; she couldn’t hold it in and laughed out loud when Mo Shaohan left. She pointed at Gu Jiaobei: "You are so bad! You knew he likes Jiaoxi, but you still threatened him."
"If I don't drive him away, I don't know how long his thick skin will last," said Gu Jiaobei seriously as he led Su Lan to the bedside and sat down.
Su Lan hadn’t heard what they were talking about. When she saw them chatting after opening the door, she didn’t interrupt but asked: "What did you talk about for so long?"
