"I—I..." Ge Shuang was speechless and didn't want to reveal the darker side of his thoughts to Janie. He blushed deeply but couldn’t say anything more.
Xia An felt anxious for Ge Shuang, so she nudged Zhao Zhenzhen to help him out.
Zhao Zhenzhen was engrossed in what was happening when Xia An pushed her, startling her into speaking: "Why did you push me?"
This startled the two of them and they blushed furiously. They realized they were still in Zhao Zhenzhen’s room; discussing such matters here wasn’t appropriate.
"Zhenzhen Sister, are you feeling unwell? Let me check on you," Janie quickly moved to Zhao Zhenzhen's side to examine her.
Zhao Zhenzhen waved her away. "I'm fine now, really. Go ahead and attend to your business."
Janie felt a little reluctant as she had just seen Ge Shuang and there was still so much left unsaid between them. She couldn’t leave.
Seeing this, Xia An nudged Ge Shuang: "Take Janie out; I’ll see you off."
Ge Shuang was more than willing, giving her a smile and saying, "Janie, I'll take you out."
Janie didn't say anything as she walked ahead with her head down.
Ge Shuang followed closely behind.
Watching them leave together, Xia An said happily, "Finally clearing up the misunderstanding between them. Looks like your illness wasn’t in vain after all."
Zhao Zhenzhen was not pleased and rolled her eyes at Xia An: "What are you saying? Do you want me to get worse? You, that wicked woman!" She then lunged towards Xia An, intending to tickle her.
Xia An screamed and quickly dodged; she hated being tickled the most.
Laughter and chases filled the room as it no longer seemed like a hospital.
Outside the room, Ge Shuang accompanied Janie all the way to her office.
Halfway there, one of Janie’s colleagues approached them. They talked for a few moments while Ge Shuang patiently waited on the side.
The colleague glanced at Ge Shuang and asked Janie: "Is that your boyfriend?"
Janie blushed as she quickly looked over at Ge Shuang, unsure how to respond.
"Hello, I'm Ge Shuang. You're right; I am Janie's boyfriend. Please give me any advice," Ge Shuang said quickly, extending his hand and greeting the colleague.
"Woah, I didn't expect that, Janie. You sure are something fast," the colleague gave Janie a thumbs up in praise.
Janie blushed, wanting to disappear into the ground.
Ge Shuang continued: "When it's convenient, I'll treat you all to dinner. You've been so kind to Janie lately; I want to thank you."
After working in the business world for some time, Ge Shuang knew how to say such formal words. However, his genuine feelings toward Janie often made him appear shy like a boy.
Seeing this side of Ge Shuang, Janie felt as if she didn't know him at all anymore.
Ge Shuang followed behind Janie, stopping occasionally to greet colleagues and explain who he was.
